- ELECTRIC MONOPOLY
- The Utilities are a regulated monopoly and its not working out great for the rate payer, ie. YOU. Solar is your way out of their monopoly over your home’s electric usage.
- EVER INCREASING PRICES
- Utility prices always go up, and they even go up faster than inflation. The price of grid power will never adjust down, it’s a one way ticket up and solar is your only way out.
- REDUCE USE OF THE GRID
- The grid has its own problems and creating your own power without the grid’s transmission lines decreases load on the fragile grid. We need the grid, but it has its problems and solar helps solve problems in the electric transmission infrastructure.
- DON’T RENT, OWN
- Being forced to rent something forever doesn’t work for a lot of people, especially those that prefer to OWN, not RENT. Ownership is a way of life, and solar is your only way to own your source of power.
- ENVIRONMENT
- By purchasing your own means of creating power you get a real CHOICE in the environmental impact of your resource consumption.
- BACK-UP POWER
- The gird goes down, but you don’t have to. Your Utility doesn’t compensate you for losing service for hours to days at a time, they’ll get your power back on based on a number of factors that have nothing to do with your personal energy needs. Provide for yourself when the grid doesn’t.
- RISK AVERSE
- Being only grid tied makes you dependent on the grid in every moment, if the grid were to have larger problems or threats then solar and batteries are your only real protection.
- INCREASING HOME ELECTRIC USAGE
- Your heat and air conditioning are going electric, your car is going electric, your water heater is going electric, your stove and oven are going electric, and that all means using more electricity at home. The more electricity you use at home the more you can control all of your energy usage with solar and batteries and active controls.
